Kimberly Pemberton
Kim Pemberton joined the board in 2013, and has served on the Board Development Committee and Nominating Committee. Kim is an Associate Professor of Elementary Education in the Department of Education at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) in North Carolina. She serves as the Elementary Education Program Coordinator, as well as the coordinator for the Teacher Performance Assessment, known as edTPA. Kim has certifications in Elementary and Birth-Kindergarten Education, and is Nationally Board Certified in the area of Early Generalist. Kim is also the Program Director for the I-RISE Literacy Academy (Initiative of Reading Improvement for Students Everywhere)—a service-learning project for her senior education majors. Kim earned a BS in Early Childhood Education from WSSU, an MS in Elementary Education from North Carolina A&T State University, and a PhD in Teacher Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
